Ramanathan Million Climate Champions Fellowship
NEW OPPORTUNITY FOR UC STUDENTS!

The Ramanathan Million Climate Champions (RMCC) fellowship is a year-long opportunity designed to support a network of student leaders working at the intersection of climate change solutions and community resilience. The UC-wide fellowship is the flagship launch of a soon-to-be global Climate Champions program with the aspiration to empower a million youth around the world to lead climate resilience actions in their local communities.
The UC RMCC fellowship is supervised by Dr. Jyoti Mishra, co-director of the UC Eco Resilience Initiative (UCERI), Associate Professor at UC San Diego School of Medicine, and 2026 Faculty Champion of Diversity, along with the incredible support from expert mentors at all UC campuses. The RMCC fellowship will build on the success of UCERI’s capstone Climate Resilience education by equipping students with the inner resilience skills, leadership skills, and networks to expand climate solutions initiatives across all 10 UC campuses and our broader communities.
The UC RMCC fellowship launch is made possible by generous support from renowned climate scientist, Dr. Ram Ramanathan, winner of the 2026 Crafoord prize (the Nobel prize of the Geosciences), and philanthropist Sara Miller McCune.
