Ramanathan Million Climate Champions Fellowship
NEW OPPORTUNITY FOR UC STUDENTS!

The Million Climate Champions (MCC) Program is a year-long certificate program based in our Eco Resilience Initiative, and designed to support a network of student leaders working at the intersection of climate change solutions and community resilience. In its inaugural year, the MCC program is launching across all 10 University of California campuses, as well as at our sister California state universities: San Francisco State University & Cal Poly San Luis Obispo, and at Texas Christian University in Fort Worth, Texas.
This program is supervised by Dr. Jyoti Mishra, co-director of UCERI, Associate Professor at UC San Diego School of Medicine, and 2026 Faculty Champion of Diversity, along with the incredible support from expert mentors at all participating campuses. This program will build on the success of our capstone Climate Resilience education by equipping students with the inner resilience skills, leadership skills, and networks to expand climate solutions initiatives in our broader communities.
The program’s launch is made possible by generous support from renowned climate scientist, Dr. Ram Ramanathan, winner of the 2026 Crafoord prize (the Nobel prize of the Geosciences), and philanthropist Sara Miller McCune.
